On Sunday I raced in the Bromont Canada cup. It was average from the start. I felt way too mellow and didn't really 'care' on the start line. I've had mechanicals in every race after Colorado. Everything is so worn out after a season in New Zealand then a constant thrashing in Colorado. I have been riding the mountain bike constantly, for the last 6 months.
So it really didn't help my head space, as I expected something to happen to my bike during the race. Unfortunately it did, my chainrings are thrashed and my chain jammed up a few times, but it was really no excuse I just wasn't in the right space, and my legs were not feeling the best to be honest.
I ended up just cruising 4 out of 5 laps rather than racing, although at least I did not pull out. The only thing that kept me going was the track, it was so fun that I just couldn't pull and had fun instead. I rode some more Bromont trails today, and I really love riding in this area.
